Pokémon GO is taking the location-based Augmented Reality gaming scene by storm, and it has pulled the attention back to AR in general. As immersive as Virtual Reality may be, Augmented Reality has its own pull on the general consumer base. Adding the Pokémon lore to the concept of Ingress is proving to be popular for Niantic, and is likely to spur on other players onto the AR scene.
