Essential Phone Accessories now available on official website starting with 360° Camera, USB-C Earphones, and more

Essential, the Andy Rubin-backed company behind the Essential Phone, is launching a handful of new accessories this week. In a Twitter announcement on Wednesday, the smartphone maker took the wraps off a 27W fast charger, USB Type-C headphones, and a soft carrying case designed for the Essential 360 Camera.

The 27W (5V/3A, 9V/3A) charger is a square, rectangular, nondescript wall adapter that plugs into the Essential Phone via USB Type-C (USB Power Delivery 2.0). It’s not as sleek as the Click Connector, the in-the-box charger that recharges the Essential Phone via rear-mounted magnetic contacts, but it has a much slimmer profile and can deliver up to four hours of battery life in 10 minutes.

Essential’s new in-house headphones, the $99 Earphones HD, feature a tangle-free cord design, a high-speed USB Type-C connection, and a hard-shell case. Essential says they deliver a better-than-average listening experience thanks to 9.2mm titanium-coated drivers and support for 24-bit, 96KHz High Resolution audio, plus USB Audio Class 2 compatibility. A handy multi-function button and built-in microphone let you control music playback, answer calls, and activate the Google Assistant without having to fumble around for your Essential Phone, and in-the-box small, medium, and large earbud tips conform to almost every ear shape.

The new red and black carrying cases for the Essential 360 Camera aren’t available yet, but when they are, they’ll provide new lightweight, low-profile way to protect your Essential 360 Camera on the go. And Essential’s now selling the 3.5mm to USB Type-C audio adapter that comes with the Essential Phone separately for $15. (It’s available in black and white, and supports 16-bit audio up to 48KHz.)

All of Essential’s new accessories are available from the Essential Store. There’s no word on the Click Connector and Essential 360 Camera carrying case’s availability, much less their pricing, but Essential’s encouraging interested customers to sign up for updates on its website.
